2010 already??!!

Gee, what happened to 2009? I have been so busy with other things, this website has definitely been lacking some attention. Heck, its still running on Drupal 5! Now that Drupal 7 is in alpha release, I guess I better start work on upgrading this baby to D6 (or maybe I'll just wait until 7 gets released - procrastination 101).

Here's a couple of cool modules/themes that I have discovered in the last little while, and that I now use on most sites I build:

  • BUEditor - a clean, simple editor that adds the required HTML to your text. Its not real WYSIWYG like FCKEditor and TinyMCE, but then it also doesn't suffer from their problems when people paste from Word. It also integrates really nicely with IMCE, so uploading images into your posts is easy to do.
  • Backup & Migrate - allows you to do backups of your site database from within Drupal. It also has an automated backup feature.
  • Adaptive Theme - a great base theme with some very cool functions that allow customization of many things from within Drupal itself. Works especially well with the Skinr module
  • Vertical Tabs - changes the node edit forms so that the list of fieldsets is shown in a vertical set of tabs. This is very useful if end-users are going to be adding nodes to your site.

And here's a couple of sites that I've been working on in the last while:
