ZoneAlarm Firewall blocks internet access
If you are using ZoneAlarm firewall with a router and cannot connect to the internet anymore, here is a solution that might help you. Usually, the problem is that the DHCP and DNS servers are being blocked by ZoneAlarm. To enable them, we first need to find out their IP addresses (4 numbers separated by dots). Click on the Start button, then click on Run, type in cmd and press Enter. In the black screen that pops up, type in ipconfig /all without the quotation marks. On the list that appears write down the IP addres for the DHCP and DNS servers. Usually they are the same. Close this window when you are done. Now open up ZoneALarm and go to the Firewall page and click on the Zones tab. Click add, choose IP Address, enter a brief description, type in the IP address of the DHCP/DNS server, and set the Zone to Trusted. Click OK/Apply. If the IP addresses were different, repeat this for each IP address. You should now have internet access.
