i18n - Installation & Configuration

Installation

  1. download and extract i18n module to sites/all/modules (it should create its own i18n folder).
  2. download and extract the French and Spanish translation files somewhere on your computer.
  3. go to Administration > Site building > Modules and activate the following i18n modules:
    • Internationalization
    • i18n - blocks
    • i18n - taxonomy (only if you're going to use categories)
    • Translation
  4. go to Administration > Site configuration > Localization and click the Import button
  5. click Browse and find your extracted translation file e.g. fr.po.
  6. select the language you want to import your translation file into e.g. French, and click Import.
  7. you should be returned to the Manage page, so Enable the language, and give it the proper Native name e.g. Fran
